RATAN TATA: THE BRIGHTEST BUSINESS TITAN
Ratan Naval Tata (Ratan Tata) the prodigy behind success of one of the largest Industry in the world, Tata Sons Limited, the holding company of the Tata Group. Ratan Tata was born on this day (December 28 in Surat, Gujarat) into the wealthy and famous Tata family of India. He is the great grandson of Tata Group founder Jamsetji Tata (1839–1904). Ratan Tata holds a Bachelor of Science (Architecture) degree with structural engineering from Cornell University, USA and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School, USA. He joined the Tata Group in December 1962 and he has served as chairman of Tata Sons from 1991 till 2017. In this period of chairmanship he has not only shaped the India’s biggest conglomerate but also contributed towards the wealth of the nation.
Tata Group has toiled under the headship of great titans of Tata family, whether it’s the first chairman and founder of Tata Group Jamsetji Tata or the Ratan Tata, the group has always make great move under the headship of every member of Tata family. Ratan Tata’s not so glossy way of living life being the owner of India’s biggest conglomerate make him distinctive. Under his leadership Tata group has overcome various challenges.
Ratan Tata introduced India’s indigenously developed passenger car Tata Indica, the first truly Indian Car. His extraordinary capabilities of handling tough situations and his aggressive approach towards business dealings sets an example. He has proved himself praiseworthy to the family firm several times. His commendable efforts and aggressive business approach revealed when in 2007 the Tata Group pulled off one of the biggest acquisitions in Indian corporate history. The Corus Group, an Anglo-Dutch steel and aluminium conglomerate was acquired by Tata Group. Another big negotiation was made between Tata Group and two British luxury car brands, Jaguar and Land Rover which were acquired by ford until year 2008, afterward it was acquisition by Tata Motor (Tata Group Subsidiary). In 2013, Jaguar Cars was merged with Land Rover to form Jaguar Land Rover Limited.
In Hindi Ratan meaning is “Diamond” and so Ratan Tata is truly a Diamond of India. His honesty, loyalty and hard work has made him achieve a lot of Awards and Recognitions, here is a list of some of his achievements
